Why You Fail To Make Sales – Your Audience

Another reason why people do not make sales online is because they don’t understand their market. They don’t understand their audience 100%.

 

To sell something to someone, you literally need to get into the minds of your customers and target audience.

 

Here’s how to get inside the mind of your target audience so that you can really send a message to them that they will understand to get them to buy from you.

 

Step 1 – Make a list: (at this point we are just making a list and not answering the questions yet)

 

* What are their fears / what scares them?
* What makes them happy
* What gets them excited to wake up in the morning
* What do they worry about?
* What are they struggling with?
* What do they dream of?
* What do they want? / What do they desire?
* What would they do if they got what they want?
* Are they male or female? What age?
* Do they have kids or are they single?
* Are they well educated?
* What is their profession?

 

If you could think of more relevant questions, add them to your list! The more you know the more it will benefit you in the long run.

 

Step 2: Find The Answers

A lot of the time if you are your target audience, it’s easy for you to understand your target audience.

 

For example, if you are in the weight loss niche and you understand the struggles of someone who is trying to lose weight – it’s easy for you to answer the questions because you understand your audience. You know what it means to resist temptations and how hard it is to get up at 6am to get to the gym and then be starving afterwards only to find that you can only eat a hard-boiled egg to tie you over until lunchtime!

 

You know this!

 

The easiest niches to sell in are the ones that you completely understand.

So what does this ultimately mean? It means that if you are going to get involved in selling a niche, think long and hard about the niche you choose because if you want to do well and sell products, a good portion of your life needs to be dedicated to serving the audience of the niche. If you are not vested in helping people, you shouldn’t even try to sell things in that niche.

 

The only time this is not the case is if we have a team of outsourcers feeding constant content to that niche and most of us don’t have those resources.

 

So a good example of this is if you are an expert in let’s say, cooking thousands different shrimp recipes, then that would be a good niche because you know a lot about it, you know where people will make mistakes because you’ve made them all yourself already, and you know the best dishes, etc.

 

You see how this doesn’t seem like “work” because you already are an expert AND you’re passionate. What a concept! This stuff works!
